RFS Pune demolished local favourites Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) 53-0 in the lop-sided final to regain the title in the 6th Women`s National Rugby 7`s Championship here at Kalinga Stadium today.
Overall, this was the fourth national crown for Pune, who last won it in 2012. Earlier in the semifinals, the Pune side, comprising six internationals, hammered Kerala 27-0, while KISS prevailed over Delhi 17-0. Pune captain Surabhi Date described their triumph as result of hard work and determination.
Meanwhile, Jungle Crows beat Future Hope 12-5 in the all-Kolkata final to lift the trophy in the Under-20 Boys` National 7`s Championship at the same venue on Sunday. Earlier in the semifinals, Jungle Crows defeated KISS `A` 17-12, while Future Hope thrashed Maharashtra 26-5.
